DRIVEABLE, ELECTRIC-MR. THOMAS THE TRAIN-ALUMINUM TRAILER-KIDS & ADULTS

Description

Electric Drivable Train. Has quick connect tow bar to pull steerable, aluminum platform car that can carry upwards of 10-15 children or adults. Trailer has plywood deck and sides (covered with green outdoor carpet) and aluminum tree stand for a custom-built aluminum Christmas tree (not the green Christmas tree shown in photos). Mr. Thomas face lights up with different colors and can be easily changed to any look or picture one desires. Currently lighted with a 120-volt color wheel that rotates. Was going to change the 120-volt lights to an easy to do 12-24 volt, LED system that are remote controlled theme party lights and that would add great special effects-also eliminates any need for a generator. 12-volt LED’s are now inexpensive and very efficient.
Train drive is all electric, driven by a 24-volt electric motor (rebuilt and reconditioned with only 2 runs on it), powered by (2) 12-volt batteries or (4) 6-volt golf cart batteries (batteries not included!). 12-volt marine/RV deep cycle batteries are inexpensive and available at Costco. Motor is rebuilt with only 2 runs on it.
A
Taylor Dunn electronic motor controller with reverse is used for smooth acceleration. Sit down driving with motor brake. Train has speaker/train sounds (12v) and a hand pull train bell. Wired for stereo with mounted speakers on train and platform car. A
bubble-maker can fit inside of smoke stack with LED up-lights for great nighttime effects.
Under the boiler cover (which hinges open) is an ice cooler compartment for drinks, sandwiches, etc. and a lower compartment for a generator (the one I used was a Honda EU1000W) but an easy conversion to 12-24 volt LED’s will eliminate any need for a generator. Body is “foam-core” from a builder’s supply house which is extremely light weight and easy to replace or repair.

rental business, as a side hustle, for children parties or young at heart adult gatherings. Estimates range from 0-0 a day in rental fees for a birthday party. Easily loads onto an inexpensive gardener’s trailer. Trailer can be loaded on its side as it is light weight. I used it for Christmas fireworks party at the beach. Everyone and their children wanted a ride-and they got one!!
