Sally Stanley is the name for smocking pleaters
This pleater has been fully serviced and new rubber feet installed.
The brass rollers have been cleaned and polished.
24 full rows, 7 half rows
for intricate detail work on children's or doll clothes smocking.
Half row spacing is .5 CM or roughly 3/16", full row spacing is 1 CM or roughly 3/8". Half row width is 3" and the full width is 9 1/2"
5 Needle options available
Needle changes are a breeze with included screwdriver to release the roller for quick needle changes.
Includes a copy of the manual, basic directions for pleating that include good cleaning and servicing instructions, and sample pages from English Smocking, screwdriver and a needle threader.

Smocking is an embroidery technique used to gather fabric so that it can stretch.
The smocking pleater pulls in the fabric through solid metal rollers and folds the fabric while pushing it onto the special curved needles that sit in grooves in the rollers. The pleated fabric is pulled down onto the threaded needles saving countless hours of hand stitching embroidery.
